Federation of River Councils Update 2012

The Federation of River Councils met for its regular meeting in Taytay, Rizal on June 26, 2012. Sec. Neric Acosta gave the current status and problems being encountered by the fisherfolk in Laguna de Bay. One main problem is the proliferation of an invasive species known locally as the knife fish. Mr. Bobby Azores brought up the matter of the Sampaloc Lake proposal submitted by SCLWMC to LLDA the previous General Manager, Hon. Rodrigo Cabrera regarding zoning plan for the fishcages so that all other stakeholders may also use the lake for recreation activities. Sec. Acosta said they will look into the matter.
